Voted “2009 Realtor of the Year” by the Aspen Board of Realtors, Darryl takes his profession seriously. The Aspen Board of Realtors has more than 650 members and represents more than 175 real estate offices from Aspen to Glenwood Springs.
Darryl earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in business and began his career managing several small businesses. Darryl and his wife moved to Basalt in 1975 and received his real estate license in 1976. He entered the real estate industry as a salesman for Basalt Realty. He soon purchased the firm from its founders and together with his team of dedicated brokers, built one of the most successful real estate companies in the mid-Roaring Fork Valley. He has served on the Professional Standards Committee and was Chairman of the Broker’s Forum. Darryl is certified as an Eco Broker and is a Graduate of Real Estate Institute (GRI).
Darryl’s proven success is a result of his knowledge of the market and diligence in servicing his customers and clients. In addition, Darryl has volunteered countless hours for Basalt Fire Rescue and local charitable organizations. When he’s not in the office, you may find Darryl on one of the valley’s many bike paths, or hiking and camping with his family.

Joanie Haggerty, Broker Associate/Owner, has been a licensed Colorado real estate agent since 1978. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder. After ten years of living in Aspen, She purchased a home in Basalt in 1985. The small town atmosphere and strong sense of community in Basalt was important to her.
Prior to her affiliation with Basalt Realty, Joanie was a long time member of the Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol. She has found that living half-way between Aspen and Glenwood Springs is the perfect location to still enjoy all the sports and activities in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Joanie joined the Basalt Realty team in 1986. Since then she has concentrated her efforts on development parcels, ranch lands and home sales.
Joanie hopes that she’ll never live anywhere else in the world than Basalt, Colorado.
Nancy Quisenberry/ Broker Associate/GRI/ CDPE, I have been an active real estate broker since 2001 with Basalt Realty, Inc. Nancy has been a resident of the Roaring Fork Valley for 40 years, and has been with Basalt Realty for 15 years. She has been active in the Aspen real estate market, as well as Basalt/Carbondale/Glenwood Springs to Rifle areas! She has worked in these communities with business, school and church activities.
In addition to her real estate experience, Nancy is a 25 year ski instructor with the Aspen Skiing Company and loves the outdoors and the wonderful folks that started as clients and are now friends.
Nancy helps people, whether it be on the slope demonstrating a carved turn, or matching buyers and sellers. She’s always eager to share a story or three!
Brian has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1992. He has been involved in Property Management for over 15 years running and managing his own business. He has been a licensed realtor since 2003. He understands the market and believes now is the right time to buy or sell. Whatever your needs are: residential, commercial, investment, leasing or property management, Brian can find you the right piece of property at the right price.
Brian plays an active role in the community working and volunteering his time for the local youth programs, Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club, Aspen Junior Golf and the Basalt Recreation Department’s baseball, soccer and football programs. He enjoys all outdoor activities including mountain biking, motocross, boating, golf, fly fishing and all snow sliding sports. Brian treasures all the moments with his family of 2 boys, Colin & Ben and his lovely wife, Heather.

Bronwyn fell in love with Aspen on her first visit, all the way back in 1993. She returned to her native Australia and re-arranged her life to move to Aspen permanently. Like many locals, she purchased her first home in Aspen and, in 2000, moved to Basalt. She particularly likes the advantages of the Basalt school system, as well as the easy access to the many cultural and outdoor sports options. Bronwyn has also been a ski instructor for the Aspen Ski Company since 1997.
Bronwyn is very involved with her daughter’s activities – everything from snowboarding to ballet, and states “ The valley is the perfect place to live and raise my family.”
With over 25 years as a business owner and resident of Aspen and Basalt, she has become involved in the Basalt Community by volunteering on the Basalt Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Roaring Fork Eagle County Planning Commission. She’s also served on the Wheeler Opera House board and is past president of the Hunter Creek Phase II HOA and the Aspen Women’s Forum.
Cathy is also well know for her professional acting and singing performances throughout the valley.

Fourth generation Coloradoan, Darlene Johnson, grew up in Steamboat Springs and moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1988. The passion and love for Colorado and the lifestyle is why Darlene has continued to live and raise her four children here. Darlene has been a successful and dedicated real estate broker since 1990 specializing in residential sales through out the Roaring Fork Valley. Darlene and her husband, Gary have also personally built 5 homes so she truly understands the building process as well. With her in-depth knowledge of the valley and the market, Darlene is more that a real estate agent, she is a caring professional that values building long term relationships and helping clients make good choices.
Darlene also runs the ski program for young children for the Aspen Ski Co. and has been very active over the years in the local children’s soccer programs. Being involved in the community affords her the opportunity to achieve her personal goal – helping others. She truly enjoys new friendships and sharing with others the love she has for the area.

Scott Wirkler is well grounded in real estate, obtaining his first real estate license at age 18. He and his wife, Sandy moved to the Aspen area in 1984 to assist in the opening of the Aspen McDonald’s franchise and subsequently owning the In and Out House, later known as Scotties, with locations in Aspen, Glenwood and Basalt. After selling the business, Scott reacquired his real estate license and now works full time with Basalt Realty.
Scott and Sandy have lived in their Blue Lake neighborhood for 28 years, and have volunteered countless hours to the community by serving on the Blue Lake Board, as well as coaching everything from baseball to wrestling.
Scott chose Basalt Realty because of its reputation for great customer service and satisfaction, and the deep roots in the Basalt and Mid-Valley area.
